Nokia 6303 classic is a fine cell phone with plenty of decent quality multimedia features for all those of you who do not require their phones to have 8 megapixel camera and other gadgets.

Overview:

Nokia 6303 classic features 2.2-inch screen, stereo radio with RDS and standard 3.5mm audio jack. Nokia 6303 classic is a genuine classic with plenty upgrades to make it more modern, yet it lacks a dedicated shutter release button, 3G, multi tasking and an office document viewer. Still, depending on your priorities the Nokia 6303 classic might be just the right phone for you.

Nokia 6303 classic pros:
+ Good battery life
+ 2.2″ 16M-color QVGA display with excellent sunlight legibility
+ S40 user interface, 6th edition
+ microSD card slot (4 GB supported, 1GB included)
+ 3 megapixel camera, autofocus and LED flash
+ VGA video recording at 15fps
+ Stereo FM radio with RDS
+ Bluetooth (with A2DP) and microUSB port
+ Standard 3.5mm audio jack
+ Plenty of preinstalled applications

Nokia 6303 classic cons:
- No 3G
- No smart dialing
- No office document viewer
- Memory card slot under the back cover
- No dedicated shutter key
- Poor image quality
- No multi-tasking

The design:

Nokia 6303 classic measures 108.8 x 46.2 x 11.7 mm and weighs 96 grams. On the front of the Nokia phone you can see the 2.2-inch screen and above it the ambient light sensor together with the earpiece. Below the display you will see the D-pad, and some knobs on its both sides. The top of the Nokia 6303 classic houses only the power button, whereas the slightly curved bottom is home to the standard 3.5 mm audio jack, microUSB port, the charger plug and the lanyard eyelet. The left side of the Nokia 6303 classic has no interesting features, whereas the right side houses the volume rocker. The back do the Nokia cell phone features the loudspeaker grill, 3-megapixel camera lens and the LED flash.

Performance:

Nokia 6303 classic has pretty and responsive menus. Moreover, the phone can store up to 2000 contacts with multiple fields not only for the phone number, but for additional information such as birth date, email, image, custom ringtone and so on. The signal reception and in-call voice clarity are excellent as always in Nokia cell phones. The call log stores up to 20 last dialed, received and missed calls. The messaging is comfy and trouble-free.
Nokia 6303 classic has no office document viewer which is a pity as I think most of its potential buyers would welcome that feature. The cell phone also does not have any multi tasking support which might make using some of its applications quite time consuming and not so user friendly.

Multimedia:

Nokia 6303 classic comes with a traditional music player supporting all the most common music files. There is only one there of the music player, but the more important thing is the equalizer and the Nokia 6303 classic has 5 equalizer presents which is just fine. The general audio quality is commendable, with good frequency response and outstanding intermodulation distortion test results.
The 3.2 megapixel camera in the Nokia 6303 classic can take photos in up to 2048 x 1536 pixels. Although there are plenty of manual settings and scene modes the general image quality disappoints. Additionally, the flash is quite poor and as the lens has no cover it might get scratched easily. The Nokia phone can also record movies in VGA resolution at 15 fps so the movies are hardly useable.
The Internet browsers, on the other hand, is a very good application in the Nokia 6303 classic. The web pages are rendered just like on your computer, however flash is not supported.

Menus/Ease of use:

The menu structure in the Nokia 6303 classic is quite usual so you should not expect any novelties. The menu is well designed and very responsive which makes it fun to work with. There are six ringing profiles and the flight mode which does not requite SIM card to be in the phone. The menus are customizable and as the phone comes with five different themes everyone will something suitable.

Overview:

Nokia 5130 XpressMusic is a well designed music phone which can easily substitute a dedicated mp3 player. The phone offers great connectivity, very good audio quality, music light effects and much, much more for quite a reasonable price.

Nokia 5130 XpressMusic pros:
+ Stereo Bluetooth (A2DP)
+ Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE support
+ Standard 3.5 mm audio jack
+ 2″ 262K color TFT display of QVGA resolution
+ Ambient light sensor
+ Music light effects
+ Sleek body design and nice choice of materials

Nokia 5130 XpressMusic cons:
- No office document viewer
- No 3G
- No stereo loudspeakers
- No smart dialing
- No Java multi-tasking

The design:

Nokia 5130 XpressMusic measures 107.5 x 46.7 x 14.8 mm and weighs 88 grams with the battery. The phone is covered with shiny plastic which looks really great but is prone to get covered with fingerprints quite fast. On the front of the Nokia phone you will see the 2” screen displaying 256k colors in 320 x 240 resolution. Below the screen there is the D-pad and a comfy and responsive keypad. The top of the Nokia 5130 XpressMusic houses the standard 3.5m audio jack, microUSB slot and the charger plug, whereas the bottom has no ports, or buttons. The right side of Nokia 5130 XpressMusic houses the microSD memory card slot, whereas the left side houses the dedicated music keys and the lanyard eyelet. The overall impression of the Nokia 5130 XpressMusic’s build quality is very positive.

Performance:

As usual with Nokia phones there are no reception, or in-call sound problems with the Nokia 5130 XpressMusic. The phone has a capacious phonebook which can store up to 2000 contacts with multiple fields for information. The contacts can be organized in groups which can later on be used as call filters. The message editor is simple and setting up your email account takes only a few seconds with most email providers.

Multimedia:

Nokia 5130 XpressMusic has the standard (a bit old) gallery so do not expect miracles here. The phone has 16 MB of built-in memory, but as it ships with 1 GB memory card in the box you will be able to put some music on the phone right away. Although the manufacturer claims that the Nokia 5130 XpressMusic supports only 2 GB memory cards it seems that it can handle all cards.
The music player in Nokia 5130 XpressMusicis its most important feature and here the phone does not disappoint. The music quality is really great and you get a few equalizer presets. Additionally, you can sort the music by artist, album and so on so it is also easy to use. Thanks to the A2DP support you can use stereo Bluetooth earphones, or any other headphones as a matter of fact thanks to the 3.5 mm standard audio jack.

Menus / ease of use:

The menu structure in Nokia 5130 XpressMusic is the good old Nokia menu with no tweaks. There are a few viewing modes to choose from, yet there is no Flight mode. Lack of flight mode is strange for a music phone, all the more so because the competition (such as the Sony Ericsson W508, or Sony Ericsson T707) has no problem implementing it. Nokia 5130 XpressMusic lacks also a few other features found in some other phones, like smart dialing, multitasking, or office document viewer.

Nokia E75 is a new business-oriented side-sliding cell phone with the latest version of Symbian, excellent connectivity and many user-friendly features.

Overview:
Nokia E75 features 2.4” 16M-color display, fast processor, standard, 3.5m audio jack, some built-in memory and a 4 Gb memory card in the box. Moreover, the phone has a GPS receiver, FM radio and digital camera. And as it is a phone aimed at businessmen it, of course, has document viewer and editor right out of the box.

Nokia E75 pros:
+ 2.4″ 16M-color TFT display of QVGA resolution
+ Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g with UPnP technology
+ microSD card slot, 4GB microSD card in the box
+ Four-row side-slide, comfortable QWERTY keyboard
+ Quad-band GSM and tri-band 3G (with HSDPA) support
+ Symbian OS with S60 3.2 UI
+ 369 MHz ARM11 CPU
+ 3.5mm standard audio jack
+ VGA@30fps video recording
+ Steel battery cover
+ FM radio with RDS

Nokia E75 cons:
- Fingerprint-prone poor-looking front
- Quite expensive (over 350 euro)
- Terrible camera key
- Controls around the D-pad are too small
- Poor camera performance
The design:
Nokia E75 measures 112 x 50 x 14.4 mm and weighs 139 grams so for this class of device it is quite small. The phone is made of high quality materials, yet the front makes rather poor impression at the first sight. The steel back, however, looks very solid and durable. What you will see first on the front of Nokia E75 is the 2.4-inch display and the D-pad below it. Still below the D-pad it the alphanumeric keypad, yet the buttons seem too small and not responsive enough to assure comfortable use. The right side of the latest Nokia cell phone houses volume rocker, camera key and voice command key along with the lanyard eyelet. The left side features the microSD memory card slot and the microUSB port. At the top you will find the standard 3.5m audio jack, whereas at the bottom you will only see the charger port. The back of Nokia E75 is home to the 3 megapixel camera lens (with no protection) LED flash, self-portrait mirror and a loudspeaker grill.

Performance:
The 2.4” display might seem a bit small for a business mobile phone but it sure does the job very well. The screen has good colors and is legible even in direct sunlight on a very sunny day. The QVGA resolution assures clarity and so even elaborate web pages are rendered well, but more on that later.the battery in Nokia E75 is quite powerful and according to the manufacturer it will last for about 260 minutes of talking, or over 250 hours in stand-by. Although, as I mentioned before the alphanumeric keyboard is not the best the full QWERTY keyboard is excellent. The buttons are not only well placed, but also just the right size and are very tactile.
Messaging with the Nokia E75 is very pleasant. The phone has three different message editor, but t is easy to get your way through it. All e-mail settings are downloaded automatically so if suffices to provide your address and password and you are ready to send messages.
Also the built-in GPR receiver works very well and as it comes with 3 months of voice-guided navigation for free and Nokia Maps 2.0 it will do the job just fine for most users.
The GPS is sensitive and doest’ get too long to track your locations.

<script type="text/javascript"

Multimedia:
The music player in Nokia E75 is just OK. It supports plenty of file formats and allows you to sort tracks by artist, genre, album and so on. There are a few equalizer present to improve the sound quality. There is also Radio and Video player. The videos look good but the phone does not support DivX/Xvid. The audio quality is good.
The most disappointing feature of Nokia E75 is its digital camera. Although the 3 megapixel could suffice with good optics the overall image quality is terrible. There is not enough detail, the images are noisy and the colors are not nearly precise enough. Strangely, the video recording function works a bit better, but still at VGA resolution at 30fps it is nothing out of the ordinary.

Menus / ease of use:
Nokia E75 runs on Cymbal S60 with Feature Pack 2 which means that menus are fast, responsive, and thanks to plenty of plugins and applications online it is highly customizable. The main menu has only two different view modes: 4 x 3 grid and a list. The phone has also only two themes, but you can download a few more for free.as the phone has a built-in accelerometer the screen gets rotated automatically. Nokia E75 features the Remote Lock function which will hopefully never be used, but still it’s good it is there.

Overview:
The Nokia 8800 Gold Arte is not a phone for technology geeks but for people whose ambition is to look well and be really visible. The phone has 18 carat gold-plated body, nice design and a few interesting features. However, for its price you can get a much more packed phone if your intention is to use the phone as a supplement for your office work.

Nokia 8800 Gold Arte pros:
+ 18 carat gold-plated body
+ Genuine white leather padding
+ Good battery life
+ 2″ 16M-color OLED display of QVGA resolution
+ 3 megapixel autofocus camera
+ 3G support
+ Turn-to-mute

Nokia 8800 Gold Arte cons:
- No office document viewer
- No memory expansion
- No lens cover for the camera
- No video calls
- Quite expensive
- Below-par camera performance
- No Smart dialing
- No radio
The design:
Nokia 8800 Gold Arte measures 109 x 45.6 x 14.6 mm and weighs 150 g mainly due to its gold body. Along with the phone you get a headset and a desktop charger also painted gold to make you stand out even more. The front of the cell phone features the 2” OLED display and below it the four main controls along with the D-pad. The right side of the phone features the loudspeaker grill. The top of Nokia 8800 Gold Arte houses the power key, whereas the bottom of the cell features the mouthpiece along with the microUSB port. At the back you will find the megapixel camera lens. The Nokia 8800 Gold Arte makes a very good impression as it attracts looks and feels very solid and durable.

Performance:
Nokia 8800 Gold Arte features only a 2-inch display showing 16M color in QVGA resolution. The screen is quite fingerprint-proof and has good contrast, yet it also has rather poor legibility in direct sunlight. There are five ringing profiles predefined and you can change them by (shortly) pressing the power button at the top of the phone. The menus work quite fast in the Nokia 8800 Gold Arte and the phone features the Flight Mode, but unlike in SonyEricsson cell phones (such as Sony Ericsson W508, or Sony Ericsson T707) Nokia 8800 Gold Arte can work in flight mode without the SIM card. The phonebook in Nokia 8800 Gold Arte can store up to 2000 contacts with multiple fields.

<script type="text/javascript"

Multimedia:
The music player in Nokia 8800 Gold Arte is just sufficient to listen to some music. Clearly, the phone is not a multimedia giant, as it is supposed to look better than perform. There is only handful of file types recognized and there is no radio. The video player works with MP4 and 3GP files only and had few options.
The built-in digital camera has no lens cover and the 3 megapixel images seem a bit too small already. Moreover, there is no dedicated camera key and no flash which makes taking photos uncomfortable and in low lighting condition simply impossible.
As usual, the phone comes with a calendar, notes application, alarm clock, calculator (standard and scientific), voice recording application.

Menus / ease of use:
Nokia 8800 Gold Arte has a few different looks of the main menu so you can adjust it to your needs. A nice feature here is the fact that you can freely arrange the icons in the main menu. However, the submenus are a mess. It is sometimes hard to find the desired options so the only way to get it is to use and memories it. As usual you can group contacts and assign different ringtones or images to them.
